Clinical Study
The QUEST study (High-FreQUEncy Nerve Block for PoST-Amputation Pain), is a randomized controlled study of 180 patients at 25 clinical study sites in the U.S. Recruitment for the study was completed in late 2021. Results are blinded until after participants have finished a twelve-month follow-up.
The purpose of this clinical trial is to evaluate whether a bioelectrical nerve block via the Altius System is a safe and effective treatment for patients with post-amputation pain.
Patients could take part in the study if they had:
The trial will evaluate the Altius system, a device which provides a bioelectric nerve block. Eligible participants were implanted with an investigational medical device. The device includes a Cuff Electrode, which is gently coiled around the nerve, and Generator, which is similar to a pacemaker. Together they deliver an electrical signal to the nerve.
Caution: Investigational device. Limited by United States law to investigational use.
